Having same issue, I see after 1 min the icon change to wired Connection, but everything is really slow, only thing working is task manager, folders and setting are not showing up. When I disable usb tethering on the phone, everything goes smooth again, and the settings window and such pop up right away. And Edge browser show up blank with no bookmarks or addressbar, untill I turn off usb tethering on phone. Kind of like when I forgot to disconnect from wifi before enabling usb tethering in W7.

After I update to Windows 10, I can no longer tether my laptop with my iPhone. Not through Wifi not Bluetooth not USB, nothing. I am CERTAIN that it's the problem of Windows because I can still use my iPhone to tether ALL other devices.

However I did find out a solution from another forum that is both simple and it finds the real root of this problem. Here's the deal: Windows 10 somehow cannot process Wifi Access Point Name (name of the Wifi if this is the correct term) with a space in it.
I have changed my iPhone name from ' Aaron's iPhone' to ' Aaron's iPhone' and it worked just like before. So now I consider this problem as having nothing to do with USB driver or iTunes installation. It is simply the problem of the APN having a space in it and Windows does not finalize the connection in such case.
I am going to thank this guy who made this suggestion that solved this problem and he really sees the inside of this issue. I also hope that this provides a clue for Microsoft engineers to crack this matter in the future update.
